  2. SYMPTOMS usually include weakness, wasting of muscle, bruising easily, round
  3. face, high blood pressure, kidney stones, easy fractures from bone thinning
  4. menstrual irregularities and psychiatric disturbances.
  5. CAUSES. The pituitary gland that controls adrenal activity and is located
  6. at the base of the brain, causes an abnormal increase in adrenal secretions.
  7. May also be from a benign tumor or excessive use of corticosteroid hormones.
  8. TREATMENT. Daily use of adrenal hormones. Surgery may be required.
